Expats share opinions on building Nansha an international community

Nansha held a meeting on August 16th to discuss on the methods to build itself an international community and attract overseas professionals.

The meeting invited more than ten expats who are living and working in the district to share their experiences and suggestions. Zhu Chengzhi, standing member of Nansha CPC Committee and head of Nansha Organization Department, also attended the meeting.

Olaf Eichst?dt, a researcher from Guangzhou Institute of Advanced Technology, said he likes the lifestyle in Nansha and finds many opportunities here. He suggested that Nansha could highlight its culture and provide more convenient services to attract overseas professionals. “For example, Nansha could add more English signs and translate some of its policies for the foreigners living here.”

According to the organizer, Nansha is building an international talent pool and a more open economic system. The government aims to gain more knowledge about the expats’ living situations in terms of education, employment, social welfare, medical service through the meeting and listen to their advices.
