Foreign investment under continuous development

Guangdong actively encourages foreign investment in Guangdong. By the end of 2013, Guangdong had accumulatively attracted 173,300 projects under direct foreign investment, valued US$ 500.28 billion in terms of contractual foreign investment and US$ 323.75 billion in terms of actual utilization of foreign investment, equivalent to about 1/4 of that of the country. In 2013, the trade in services actually utilized US$ 11.26 billion of foreign investment, equivalent to 45.1% of that of the province.
